Yes or No… to Buying Email Marketing Lists

Now that you’ve decided to embark on an email campaign, your next task is to build an email marketing list, but where do you get it from?A large number of the inexperienced are victimized by the purchasing of email marketing lists.  Don’t make the same mistake.

Use these next seven ideas to get the ideas flowing and build your own targeted list.  Remember, your primary goal should be to send emails to people who actually want to hear from you. 

So, where exactly is it that you can find a good list of targeted email leads?” The best way is to use a diverse set of marketing methods, and to pay close attention to the web traffic you receive. The list below is similar to that suggested by various email marketing companies to enable success for your email marketing list development. 

1.    Your Webpage– request individuals sign up for your guestbook your online electronic magazine your newsletter, your offer for a free report or book and any contest that you have to offer. You should take care to position this opt in lead capture form on every page of your website.

2.    Try Direct-Mail Marketing — mail out flyers or postcards to all potential customers.Design the postcards in a way that clearly compels people to visit your website to register for relevant information and possible free offers. 

3.Use Telemarketers — use a telemarketing agent or service to make the initial contacts with prospective clients.Require the telemarketers to get email addresses by offering incentives in the form of contests, free trials, etc.]).

4.Use the Services of a Broker — Find websites with heavy traffic that make brokerage services available that can be linked to your offers and sign up forms.  Most brokers will provide this service for an average of $.10 to $.15 for each email you send.

5.    Get out There and Hoof It – this is a great opportunity for students who are off during the summer.  Then students door-to-door, offering information exchange for e-mail addresses. 

6.Use an Online Contest — Everyone loves to enter free contests and this is an effective way to get free email addresses.Request email addresses on the contest entry forms as a requirement for entry to the contest.

7.Face to Face Offers — if you are the proprietor of an actual retail or wholesale store, don’t hesitate to ask you customers for their email address when they check out.Consider also using surveys and contests via email to entice prospects to provide contact information.

In summary, there are surely a broad variety of ways to develop a list of eager buyers to target with your email campaign. You don’t have to resort to buying email marketing lists.
