By: Steve Casteel

One of the major keys to your success as an online home business owner is to build and grow a solid opt-in email list. While most online business owners understand the importance of putting an opt-in offer on their home page, many struggle to convert their visitors into subscribers.

Most web surfers are constantly BOMBARDED with requests to for their names and email addresses every time they go online. Web surfers are getting very picky about what they will give up their information for. With that in mind, having a bland, boring and unappealing opt-in offer such as “subscribe to my newsletter” just won’t cut it in this day and age.

If you want to maximize the the number of subscribers on your list you must write a benefit rich, exciting opt-in offer that your visitors want to sign up for. Below are three tips to help you write eyeball grabbing opt-in offers that almost compel your visitors to subscribe to your opt-in list.

Opt-In List Tip #1: Emphasize Benefits Not Features

When you write your opt-in offer, don’t just describe the information that you are going to send your subscribers, explain the ADVANTAGES of having this information.

Remember, your opt-in offer should always answer the “What’s In It For Me” question that your visitors are asking. your visitors will become much more interested when they think that there is a real value to giving you their email address.

Opt-In List Tip #2: Include A “Call To Action”

Make sure that your opt-in offer always tells your visitors EXACTLY what you want them to do.

It might seem obvious that that your visitor must enter their name and email address, and click the “subscribe button” but that is not the main reason for including a call to action in your opt-in offer.

A call to action creates a sense of urgency and helps to persuade your visitor to act immediately. If you want them to enter their name and email address into your opt-in box, say “Enter your name and email address into the spaces provided and click the subscribe button”.

Opt-In List Tip #3: Add A Link To Your Privacy Policy

As the amount of unwanted email that we all receive continues to increase daily, your web visitors become more and more reluctant to give out their email addresses because they are afraid that an unethical marketer may sell or trade them and they will get even more unwanted email.

By having a well-written privacy policy, that explains exactly how you are going to be using your subscribers personal information, along with a link to the policy, included right in your opt-in box will go a long way to reducing your vistors fear of giving you their email address.

By emphasizing these simple guidelines when you write your opt-in offr, you will be able to create very enticing opt-in offers that grab your visitors attention.

Now just place your opt-in offer prominately on your web page and watch your your opt-in list grow and grow!
